Our Brewery
Postřižinské pivo has been brewed at Pivovar Nymburk on the Elbe since 1895.
Founded by Royal Decree
The town of Nymburk was granted the right to brew in 1895. Construction finished three years later and the first batch left the brewhouse on 19 March 1898. The same cellars are still in use.
Today the brewery ships to fifteen European countries and holds several dozen awards. iBere is its Moldovan importer — we buy by the pallet, keep it cold from Nymburk to Chișinău, and sell nothing that has been sitting around.
- 18 beers in the range, from 0,0 % to 13°
- Open fermentation and 30–45 days of cold lagering
- Whole-cone Žatec (Saaz) hops in every batch
The Beer Hrabal Wrote About
Bohumil Hrabal grew up on this brewery's grounds — his stepfather managed it. Postřižiny (published in English as Cutting It Short) is set here, and Uncle Pepin and Francin, two of its characters, now have beers named after them.
It's why the range reads like a cast list: Pepinova desítka, Francinův ležák, Něžný Barbar, Hrabalův ležák. Order any of them and you're drinking a footnote to Czech literature.
